Terms of Use

Effective 2 October 2026

1. About these terms

cwilt is provided by James Fursedon, trading as cwilt ("we"). These terms supplement Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies to your use of the app. If the two conflict, Apple's agreement wins on anything it covers.

2. Playing cwilt

Today's daily puzzle and the campaign levels are free. Please use cwilt for personal, non-commercial play. Don't try to interfere with the app, bypass its purchase checks or reverse-engineer it.

3. cwilt+ subscription

4. Hints

A Hint reveals one optimal starting square for a puzzle. Subscribers get one new free Hint each UTC day, counted on each device. Unused daily Hints don't carry over.

5. Availability and changes

We aim to keep cwilt running smoothly, but it's provided as is and may occasionally be unavailable. We may improve, change or retire features, and will give notice in the app before removing something cwilt+ includes. If we ever stop offering cwilt+, we'll stop renewals.

6. Content

The cwilt name, logo, puzzles, artwork and sound belong to us. You're welcome to share your results and link to the game.

Levels you create. Levels you make in Create stay on your device and only you can play them. If you submit a level, you give us a free, permanent, worldwide licence to use, change, publish and include it (or something based on it) in cwilt, without payment. We may credit you with the name you give, but we don't have to, and we may decide not to use a level at all. Please only submit levels you made yourself.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, or our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited. Otherwise, we're not liable for losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable, and our total liability to you is limited to what you've paid for cwilt+ in the previous 12 months.

8. Your progress

Your progress is stored on your device (see our Privacy page). We can't recover it if it's erased or the app is deleted.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or EU, you keep the protection of your local consumer law and can bring a claim where you live.
